
Today we say farewell to Lieutenant General Robert Milstead. LtGen Milstead is departing as Chairman of the Board for Marine Toys for Tots Foundation effective 1 August 2025. LtGen Milstead’s exemplary leadership and mentoring to the Marine Toys for Tots Program will be missed.
LtGen Robert E. Milstead Jr., USMC (Retired), served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps for over three decades, retiring as a Lieutenant General.
His illustrious career included key leadership roles across operational, command, and staff positions, culminating in senior assignments that honed his strategic and organizational expertise.
His service in the Marine Corps, deeply rooted in the values of duty and service, continued after his life in a uniform.
LtGen Milstead served as Chairman of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity that supports the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. During his tenure from January 2018 to July 2025, LtGen Milstead provided visionary leadership, drawing on his extensive Marine Corps experience to guide the Foundation in delivering toys, books, and educational resources to millions of children in need. His leadership upheld the organization’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and strategic growth, ensuring alignment with its mission to support disadvantaged children.
