Delivering Hope and Smiles Through Community Partnership

For the Marine Toys for Tots Program, supporting children in need is not limited to a single season—it is a year‑round commitment to hope. The generosity of donors and National Corporate Sponsors empowers Toys for Tots to be a constant force for good, delivering comfort, confidence, and opportunity to children facing hardship. At a recent Community Impact Event in Orlando, Florida, KPMG demonstrated the power of that commitment by bringing hope, optimism, and comfort to local children through its partnership with Toys for Tots.

Hosted at the KPMG Lakehouse—the firm’s professional learning, development, and innovation center—the event welcomed Lieutenant General Jim Laster, USMC (Retired), CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Gunnar Spafford, Vice President of Business Development for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, and Marines from the 4th Maintenance Battalion. Together with KPMG volunteers, they gathered with a single purpose: bringing joy and opportunity to children facing hardship.

Through this collective effort, more than $5,000 worth of backpacks, STEM supplies, and toys were provided for children in the local community. In addition, KPMG professionals contributed an additional $3,000, allowing Toys for Tots to extend its reach even further. Volunteers worked side by side with the Marines to assemble over 150 backpacks, each thoughtfully prepared for local distribution.

This initiative also marked an important milestone, as KPMG became the first professional services organization to serve as a National Corporate Donor to Toys for Tots. This distinction reflects the firm’s leadership, generosity, and deep commitment to advancing the Marine Corps’ long‑standing mission of bringing hope to children in need.

It is through partnerships like this—rooted in action and empathy— that Toys for Tots can continue showing up and providing joy, hope, and a reason to believe for the children who matter most.
