Earlier this year, wildfires tore through Los Angeles, leaving devastation in their wake. Entire communities were displaced, thousands of families lost everything, and first responders fought relentlessly to safeguard lives and homes. “The tragic fires in Los Angeles have put countless families in crisis, disrupting their lives and destroying homes. While our hearts ache for those affected, our dedication to assisting those in need remains steadfast,” stated LtGen Laster.

After emergency aid was secured, the Toys for Tots Disaster Response and Recovery Program stepped in to provide another kind of relief—emotional comfort. Partnering with Good360, we helped deliver toys, books, and other gifts to the First Responders Children’s Foundation (FRCF), bringing moments of joy to children in the midst of hardship.
To honor the unwavering dedication of first responders, FRCF hosted the Los Angeles First Responder Family Appreciation Day at Dodger Stadium on February 25th, a day filled with gratitude, celebration, and much-needed respite. Families came together to enjoy activities, music, and food, while also receiving essential supplies. It was more than an event, it was a beacon of hope, a chance to heal.
During the celebration, volunteers distributed nearly 9,000 toys, books, and gifts to children whose families had endured the unimaginable. Each gift transformed despair into hope, reminding these children that even in the darkest times, kindness and community prevail.
Toys for Tots remains committed to supporting children in need, ensuring that hope and comfort reach them when they need it most—reminding them that even amid devastation, hope can bloom.
