Messages of hope were sent to Title- 1 school districts in the Perkins, Ohio area during a recent book distribution! The book-giveaway, which was organized by the Kids in Need Foundation, supported teachers within some of the most underprivileged schools in the Cleveland area. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation provided 10,000 books worth over $30,000 to the KINF to support the initiative.
The Marine Toys for Tots Literacy Program is more than just providing books. Literacy is essential to developing a strong sense of well-being and citizenship. Children who have developed strong reading skills perform better in school and have a healthier self-image. The age-appropriate books that were distributed to K-12 teachers will positively impact the lives of many underprivileged children!
